‘Grief’

70 x 80 cm (28 x 31 in)

Oil on Canvas

2023

'Grief' is a deeply personal and as such, vulnerable work. The artist says:
"This painting is about grief. About the futility of hate and war. Grief for the human race, who remains blind to the fact that we are all the same. Grief for the fact that we can cause such sickening atrocities. And as such, it is also about fear of the past repeating."

Capturing both the emotional state of shock, the horror, and the disbelief over human destruction, and the woundedness, momentary apathy and looming grief it triggers, the portrait reveals both essence and quality of the stark strength so often characterising persecuted populations for whom carrying on through violent adversity is not a choice but a condition of life.

Certificate of Authenticity included.

World wide shipping and full insurance during shipping is included courtesy of the studio.
