The third in the series exploring self-awareness, this painting depicts the subject's self-connection as echoed through her connection with nature. The recurring imagery of wings and flight coupled with ripe vines intertwined with the figure’s hands, her head thrown back as if in a dance, all indicate joy, freedom and a celebration of her being - with herself, and in the world.
In this series, the gaze is no longer directed towards the viewer or oneself, but rather to a oneness with nature; a release of boundaries between the physical and the spiritual.
